Usually a picture is worth a thousand words so I’m going to forego my normal rhetoric and just post a few picture highlights of the many things we’ve had going on lately…
First of all, one of my best friends Tania came up with her family from Tucson and took beautiful engagement pictures of Briana and her fiance Eric. They are AMAZING and hands down my favorite engagement pictures I’ve ever seen. Plus it helps they are such a gorgeous couple. Here are a few highlights of the shoot:

Disclaimer on the first picture: This was my idea for an engagement picture but she stole it or rather I let her borrow it. So when I use it for one of my engagement pictures later on just know that I am NOT copying her.
Another fun fact about this photo is that Eric restored this vintage bike for her for Christmas. Amazing!
Next, the big news in Rachel’s life is that she got her braces off! She has always looked super cute but she looks so grown up now! She’s a beauty!

Speaking of beauties…Lauren got all dolled up today and went to prom. I had to post a lot of pictures because quite honestly she looked STUNNING and I want to show her off.

(Um, Lauren you’re kind of far away from your date!)
Wow, I really do have some good looking sisters!
And finally I’ve been trying to be more crafty/domestic so I wanted to show you a few things I’ve been working on in my spare time (this has been a series of projects over the last five months or so)…
The following bike painting and typewriter key paintings were copied from a Pottery Barn catalogue. They were way too expensive to buy, so I just used them for inspiration and made my own versions!
You can’t really tell how cool this next project was from the picture so I’ll just describe it to you. It cost me $2.00 to make. I bought a styrofoam wreath and book from the dollar store and then made a wreath from the pages of a book. I felt a little bad for tearing apart the book since my mom always taught us that “books are our friends” but trust me it wasn’t great literature in the first place.

And finally, sunflower cupcakes that I made this weekend. They’re from this adorable cookbook called “Hello Cupcake” and I’ve been dying to try something from it.

As you can see we’re keeping busy and loving life!

Okay, by the way…….I’m so overly impressed with you sweet artistic skills! Can I pay you to do some for me? =)
It’s so fun to see what’s going on with your wonderful family. Thanks for posting. Everyone looks happy, healthy and beautiful to say the least. I’m also hoping to be able to make it our for the wedding! I HAVE to be there! So I’m trying to work it out!
Love you guys!
love it all!! i love lauren’s dress….and great job on her hair!! she is a beauty! and the cupcakes turned out great! i was thinking about doing those sunflowers for sadies birthday too. i miss you! cant wait till nest time!
LOVE the update…LOVE the pics!! You girls really are ALL beautiful!! I had my best friend get married a WEEK before me who stole my wedding SONG, my wedding COLORS, my engagement photo theme, her fiance even bought her the SAME ring Kent got me (luckily I got mine first), and MORE! I learned that I should’ve kept my ideas to MYSELF! I was IRRATE but I’m sure know one will notice a picture that similar but I will remember it was YOUR idea! lol. LOVE your creativity! Somehow I think I missed out on the gene!! I LOVE your typewriter pic! I WANT IT! How did you do it????
Shout out to the K Girls for reading our blog…thanks for being faithful followers!
First of all, Kristin – I got so excited when I saw that you are thinking about coming out for the wedding! That would be amazing!! I hope it works out
And Karlee, I can’t believe someone would copy that many of your ideas!! Especially because you guys got married so close to each other so people would obviously notice the similiarities. Man, I would have been so mad too! In fact, I’m kind of mad for you right now.
Anyway, I saw the typewriter painting in the PB catalog but it was so expensive but one of my good friends posted this how-to on her blog so I just copied it! But if you decide to try it, be warned that it takes a LONG time. But I think it is so worth it! http://susieharris.blogspot.com/2009/07/inspirationpass-it-on.html
And Tania – I’m buying my plane ticket next week to come down for Sadie’s party! So lets make cupcakes! Can’t wait!
